What does a Clinical Supervisor and Acute Care Registered Nurse do at Contessa?
As a Clinical supervisor/ACRN, I provide hospital-level care in the comfort of the patient’s home. I assist with onboarding, educating, and mentoring a growing team. Collaborating with the Recovery Care Coordinators and physicians, we strive to go above and beyond for what’s best for our patients.
Why did you choose a career in nursing?
I have always been in healthcare. I started working in the hospital as an ER Tech and quickly decided that I wanted to be able to do more, help more, and provide a higher level of care to support to my patients. As a nurse, there are so many different opportunities in how I can make a positive impact.
How does the work you do at Contessa differ from other nursing positions?
Working in the hospital I never got to spend more than a few minutes with my patients. At Contessa, I am allowed as much time as the patient needs.
What is the best part of your job?
My patients are allowed to heal in the most comfortable setting, their own homes. I believe the healing process begins with your environment and support system.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
The most challenging part of my job is learning how to be a good mentor while growing a team.
What inspires you to come to work every day?
Knowing that I am making a difference. My patients really love being in the comfort of their homes and still receiving hospital-level care.
