Employee Spotlight: Sierra Brown, Director of Recovery Care at Home

Meet Sierra Brown, RN, Director of Recovery Care at Home (HRC Director) for Henry Ford Health’s Care at Home program. Sierra leads a dedicated team of Recovery Care Coordinators, helping them to provide patients hospital care in the comfort and convenience of their homes.
Her leadership ensures that the systems and processes guiding our Recovery Care at Home model run smoothly— so every patient receives the thoughtful, efficient care they deserve.
We recently caught up with Sierra to learn more about her career journey, what inspires her work and what she enjoys outside of Contessa.
All About Me
Sierra has been a nurse for nearly five years, with most of her bedside experience focused in cardiac care. “The heart was always where I felt most connected,” she shares. “There’s something powerful about helping people through those critical moments and watching them recover.”
She now brings that same heart to her work behind the scenes, ensuring Recovery Care at Home operates at its best for patients, caregivers and providers alike.
Outside of work, Sierra loves going on walks with her family, baking up sweet treats and exploring local bakeries. “Trying new spots is one of my favorite things—there’s always something new and delicious out there,” she says.
Three things she can’t live without? “Coffee, my water bottle, and my calendar—without those, I’m lost!” she laughs.
What I Love About Contessa
Sierra was drawn to Contessa’s mission from the start. “When I first joined nearly two years ago, I was inspired by the unique opportunity we offer to patients and their families,” she says. “Since then, I’ve seen firsthand the meaningful impact our work has—and it’s nothing short of remarkable.”
She describes the Contessa culture as family. “My team knows me well, challenges me to grow and teaches me something new every day. There’s always someone to share a laugh with or lean on when I need to decompress.”
When it comes to her colleagues, Sierra says, “They never fail to make me laugh, and they’re always ready to share the workload and lend a helping hand. I truly couldn’t ask for a better team.”
Looking back on her journey so far, Sierra is proud of the care she’s been able to provide. “Whether it’s responding to late-night calls, coordinating durable medical equipment (DME) or personally delivering medications, I’m proud to help patients heal safely and comfortably at home.”
Thank you, Sierra, for your leadership, compassion and commitment to excellence — your work helps make Contessa’s mission possible!
