Dr. Mark Montoney, Former chief medical officer of Tenet Healthcare joins Contessa Health as chief medical officer

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Contessa Health announced today the addition of Dr. Mark Montoney as the company’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO). In this role, Dr. Montoney will lead all of Contessa Health’s clinical operations, including protocol development, service line strategies and market-based clinical quality committees.

Prior to Contessa Health, Dr. Montoney served as the Chief Medical Officer of Tenet Healthcare where he led a network of regional physician executives and collaborated with nursing leadership in driving clinical performance and high quality patient care. Mark joined Tenet through its acquisition of Vanguard Health Systems, where he was the Chief Medical Officer. At Vanguard, he was responsible for system-wide clinical quality improvement, patient safety, physician alignment strategies and value-based health care delivery. Prior to Vanguard, Mark was the Chief Medical Officer of OhioHealth where he also practiced internal and geriatric medicine for a number of years.
